If it was just me, I would make appropriate adjustments and try different areas and different lure combinations. When the Salmon Clash competition occurs on a sunny day the first ingame hour (15 minutes in real life) from 6pm-7pm there are no competition fish caught (trophy or unique fish). Personally, I found the uni burbot easier to catch on shiners than lures.I have been participating in the last few Salmon Clash Competition on a sunny day and would like to make a suggestion based upon it. And some days certain sizes/colours of the above outfish others.Ĭan't remember what's available in the shop there, so buy beforehand to be safe.īeen a while since I did any serious fishing there aside from chasing the uni Whitefish, which is why I'm heading there later to brush up. will stop in and post a comment or two.Ĭan't really add much to that except to bring some 6/0 regular spinners, and topwaters if you want some fun with the salmon.Ī wide range of plastics is preferable, some days they want shads, others grubs, other days worms. Not real big on live bait fishing except when going for that particular Uni, so if that's your in your wheel house, I'm sure there will be comments posted through out the day that will be helpful.Īlberta is not my strongest venue, and I know that there a few in our little clan that haven't spent much time there, and others are pro anglers there, so I'm not here to tell anyone on how to fish, and what to bring, and what not to bring, just a recommendation. Maybe some casting spoons if you plan on trying for pike, and some bullet spinners. V.V. So if you fall into that catagory, you might want to bring a variaty of spoons. Not just the indicator, but not being able to catch fish. I, like some others, am having trouble with cranks. "If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it." Maybe I, or we, will set up a private room, and if any of the posse would like to join you're more than welcome. will be in Alberta today, and I plan on being there myself this evening for a little "tune up".
